Climate Action Chester & District

Climate Action groups are a network of local groups across the UK, powered by Friends of The Earth.

Climate Action groups are made up of people like you, working together to make our communities more climate-friendly. We are the local solution to a global crisis. We know there are solutions to climate chaos and there’s still time to act – just.

Our aim is to attract people across Cheshire West who are passionate about tackling the climate crisis and want to build a fairer, greener country together. We want to involve people, like you, who’re looking for a space to promote and demand positive solutions to the climate crisis. A safe and inclusive space in which all people are valued and can contribute.

We especially want to attract people who may have never been involved in climate action before, and who’d prefer their activism to remain within the law.

We want to ensure that our council, Cheshire West and Chester, makes good on its commitments to dealing with the Climate Emergency, as set out in their task force’s Climate Action Plan. If they do not do so, we face Climate Chaos.

As more and more communities and councils are seen to take climate action across the UK, pressure will mount on the national government to do the same.

It’s a big crisis we’re facing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun solving it. Climate activism isn’t all doom and gloom.

This is an offshoot group of ChesterFoE concentrating on climate campaigning in the region.

Membership is through our Friends of the Earth Chester & District group.

We use a National FoE platform called Action Network which allows us to coordinate petitions, events and newsletters.
